About Bill Rodman

As a resident of our Town for more than 15 years, I know what a wonderful Town Oro Valley is and can be. I am running for election to the Oro Valley Town Council because I believe that my experience in both the public and private sectors provides a strong basis for fact-based decision making and overcoming the challenges our Town faces.
- Four years on the Oro Valley Town Council
- Served four years on the Oro Valley Planning and Zoning Commission with one year as Chair.
- Former Board Member and president of elementary and Highschool Boards of Education in my previous hometown
- Two-time president of the Glenview Chamber of Commerce.
- Retired attorney with a Juris Doctor Degree from Northwestern University and a master’s in human services administration.
Bill Rodman is an experienced businessman, attorney, and public servant who is running for election to the Oro Valley Council after having first been elected in 2016.
Bill and his wife of 47 years, Judi, moved to Oro Valley 15 years ago after raising their family in Glenview, Illinois. Before being elected to the Town Council, Bill served as chair of the Oro Valley Planning and Zoning Commission.
In Glenview, Bill ran a law office that he launched with a partner – eventually growing the firm to 20 employees. During his time as an attorney, Bill served both the state of Illinois and his community in a variety of positions, including:
- Deputy Director of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs
- Chief Counsel for the Republican Leader of the Illinois House of Representatives
- Legislative Liaison for Governor Jim Thompson
- Chair of the Elementary School Board of Education
- Chair of the High School Board of Education
- President of the Glenview Chamber of Commerce
- President of the Glenview Rotary Club
In his many roles for the state of Illinois, Bill traveled frequently to Japan, Hong Kong, China, and the former Soviet Union to help promote international trade and business ties with the state.
After serving Illinois for many years, Bill moved into international business to set up medical clinics and sell medical equipment in the former Soviet Union. He was then recruited to operate factories in China, later helping that company manage a transition of some services to the United States. Before moving to Oro Valley, Bill was Chief Operating Officer for two large social service agencies.
Bill earned a Bachelors’s degree in Economics and a Juris Doctor degree from Northwestern University. He later received a Masters in Human Services Administration from Spertus College. Bill is an instrument-rated pilot, has run four marathons, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Bill and Judi have three children and seven grandchildren.
